In math you can practice writing addition, subtraction, and multiplication stories.
There were 7 bats in a haunted house. 5 more bats flew in. How many in all? (addition)
There were 10 witches stirring a cauldron. 4 left to go trick or treating. How many were left? (subtraction)
Ms. King bought 6 pumpkins. Each pumpkin had 10 seeds in it. How many seeds are there in all? (multiplication)
Practice telling time to the hour, half hour, quarter of an hour, five minutes, and one minute.
Also practice elapsed time... For example, school started at 9:00. We have snack at 10:30. How long do the kids have to wait to eat? (Remember to use a number line to count out hours and parts of hours visually!)
